Private Lessons

Learn the Do’s and Don’ts of household, social, and community canine etiquette with your dog. Each private lesson is customized to meet your specific needs. Weather it is teaching your pooch to not jump up, come when called, or quit pulling on the leash, Maria will assist you with practical and realistic training methods. Multi-dog households, first-time dog owners, rescue dogs, and any other behavior is easily and patiently handled by Maria’s years of hands on professional trainer experience. First lesson is one and a half hours, recurring lessons typically one hour. Lessons are by appointment only. Evening training lessons available.

Day Training

To keep up on your puppy obedience that you’ve already learned, some training maintenance is important. Day training is reserved for dogs that are at intermediate to advanced training levels. Your dog receives brush-ups on areas they may have slipped a little. Must have trainer approval and be able to demonstrate a minimum intermediate training level if prior training received elsewhere. Maria arrives at your home to begin the lesson. Owner need not be present, dog is away for one-four hours. Great for dogs that need a mid day potty break or walk where a dog walker may undo your hard work. Day Training by appointment only.

Group Classes

Obedience classes are taught at Barkz, The Dog Stop, by professional dog trainer Maria Maugans Stopforth, using the same training philosophies she uses in her private lessons.
